When the forecast in Calgary has a snowfall warning in April, you always know you could be heading into a white out. Despite a sunny day 20 degree day, the afternoon had started to cloud over. I thought as I drove west toward the Rocky Mountains that it would be get colder. But to my pleasant surprise, the sun came out and our scheduled engagement session has a glorious golden hour sunset, what a blessing!
It couldn’t have happened for a sweeter couple. Lewis and Marissa met through mutual friends at different churches and their courtship has been one of ‘when you know, you know.’ They are planning their ceremony at one of my favourite venues, Water Valley Events Church, followed by a reception on a property nearby. A fitting choice for this Christian couple.
Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, with it’s spectacular mountain views, is an ‘old faithful’ when it comes to getting spectacular portrait photography.
Whenever I work with a newly engaged couple, I always go through some pretty standard instruction of how to move through posing for the session. That’s when Lewis revealed to me that he and Marissa had decided to hold off kissing until their wedding day! Fantastic. What a sign of devotion to one another! I am sure as you looked through these images, you didn’t even notice. Every photo is full of love and romantic in every look, every Eskimo kiss of nose to nose and every tender nuzzle. I can’t wait to join them in September 2021 for their momentous event! It is sure to be a union of tenderness and pure love centred on their mutual faith.
